So I know that this it a little bit out of season, but I thought I would share this project with you anyways. Last week I was helping my friend, Elizabeth learn how to knit, and this project kind of came out of that. I have had this yarn for a really long time and I have never really come up with a good project to use it in. Part of the problem was that I had so little of it…Projects usually take more yarn than you would think, and this cowl was actually cutting it a little close. I basically cast on enough stitches to fit around my neck and then knitted the stockinette stitch until I ran out of yarn.
I was surprised at how relaxing it was to be knitting again. Sometimes, knitting can cause me more headache than anything, but I think because this cowl was so simple and I was making it up as I went, things went very smoothly.
I purposely did not attached the two ends or add buttons. I plan to use a vintage pin to keep it wrapped snugly around my neck. I think this will be the perfect neck warmer for cool fall days when I ride my bike to work.
Are any of you looking forward to the next season, or do you wish the summer (winter for those of you living in the southern hemisphere) would never end?
