Mike and I have decided to do the unthinkable. We are reupholstering our sofa. Yes. I know. I think we are crazy too. I found a crazy good deal on some upholstry fabric (think $2 a yard) so we kinda just plunged right in without a second thought. Last night I made the first cushion cover, using the old cushion cover as a template.
I really love how it looks, and I think I will love it when I am done, but right now I want to kick the stupid couch (oh, and myself for deciding this was a good idea). For some reason, my sewing machine is having lots of trouble with the cotton duck that I am using for the non-visible parts of the sofa. I even got upholstry needles for the machine in hopes that that would help. No such luck. And, unfortunately, since the move I have not been able to find the manual for my machine. Ugh! Maybe I should go back to canning…who would of thought that a project like this would cause me to question all my craftiness?
Just let me give you some advice…if you have never done this before, don’t even think of starting up now! And if you have done this before…can you do mine too??
