A Momentary Glimpse of Warmth
December 18, 2008 by Kate Martinez
As I was walking to work I saw this little guy. He must have been taking advantage of the warmth to search for food. One thing that I love about where I live is we will have a huge snow storm (accompanied by below zero temperatures), and a few days later, the sun will melt all the snow, just in time for the next storm.
In a lot of ways I feel like this fox. During the small moments between storms I take a moment to venture outside. I know that snow is coming so I like to savor the time I have in the warmth of the sun.
Here are some things I have been reading this week:
I am loving this altered sweater by Angry Chicken. So cute!
Simple Mom gives some great tips on how to organize and focus the rest of your time before Christmas.
The Simple Dollar writes about two-career marriages. This is definately a discussion worth having with your partner if you haven’t already.
How About Orange has a tutorial for some fun, low-cost homemade ornaments.
And finally, for my poor grad-student husband who is in the midst of math finals, the Onion has a great article on the woes of math homework (not for young readers due to language)
